History of Troop 55
Troop 55, first chartered in 1933, is one of the largest Boy Scout troops in the United States. We generally have around 60 registered Scouts organized into small patrols. Our Scouts attend many different public and private schools in and around the Great Falls, VA area and come from a variety of faiths.
Outings
Troop 55 goes on a variety of outings throughout the course of the year. Our scouts are active in high adventure and attend a week-long summer camp program.

Cooking and Recipe Resource
The Scouts of Troop 55 are cooking aficionados. We put our supply of dutch ovens to use at almost every outing. Each December, in a Troop 55 tradition, we have a troop-wide “Cooking Competition” at St. Francis Church. The recipes and meal favorites celebrate the diversity and cultural heritage of our troop.
