Time: Arrive at the St. Francis parking lot at 6:30 for a 7:00 am departure, Saturday, June 7th
Return to St. Francis around noon on Sunday, June 8th
The Antietam Battlefield where the one day bloodiest battle in American History occurred in 1862, is only 1 hour and a half away from us. The boys will be choosing between a 25 mile bike ride along the potomac and through the battlefield, or a 10 mile hike through the battlefield. In both cases scouts will be carrying light backpacks with lunch and will tour the Antietam Museum. We will be staying at the primitive Rohrbach Campground on the battlefield. If your scout is doing the biking portion, they must provide their own bike and helmet. Each scout should have a spare tube that fits their bike, adults will have pumps and repair kits.
