Troop 55G(Girl) April 2021 Outing – Westmorland Park Outing

When: Saturday, April 24-25, 2021
Where: Westmorland  State Park, VA
Time: Leave St. Francis Church Parking lot at 7:00am in small group, and return to home Sunday 04/25/2021 ~3:30PM 

For this outing we will be camping at Westmorland State Park, which contains numerous hiking trails and a fossil hunting beach with shark teeth and other fossils. Our departure will be on Saturday, April 24th at 7 a.m. from the church parking lot.  We will stop at the George Washington Birthplace National Monument and then proceed to Westmorland State Park around 11 a.m. We will then hike some trails in Westmoreland State Park until camp check in at 4 p.m. On Sunday we will be waking up early to hike down to the park’s fossil beach at low tide. We will spend a few hours searching for fossils, then head back to the campsite to check out by 1 p.m. and head back to the Great Falls Library parking lot for an estimated pick-up between 3-3:30 p.m.   Eat breakfast before departure on Saturday morning and pack a lunch for a picnic prior to afternoon hiking at Westmorland State Park on Saturday, and bring some cash for Sunday lunch.

 Due to COVID-19 safety consideration, we require all scouts and adults wearing masks during car ride,  do not share food and drink, and do their best for social distance.

There is a $45 fee for each scout and parent attending (which includes a $20 transportation fee). Transportation fee is $20 per person, the transportation fee of $20 is waived for both scout and parent if the parent is driving.
