Registration for Rappahannock River Canoeing – Sept 24-25, 2016

Arrive: St. Francis Parking Lot at 7:00 am, Saturday, September 24th 
Return: St. Francis mid-afternoon on Sunday, September 25th

Whether this is your first canoe trip or you’re an experienced boater, this 10-mile 2-man canoe trip is ideal for large groups wanting to have some fun on the water.  The Rappahannock includes a remote wilderness feel with a wide stretch of beautiful scenery.  On Saturday you will check in with Virginia Outdoor Center where you will receive your safety orientation and life jackets. From there you’ll be shuttled to the staging area where you’ll begin your river trip. You’ll pack a lunch to eat on the river and patrols will prepare Saturday dinner.  Sunday morning patrols will make a hot breakfast, have a religious service, clean up and head home.

Scouts should eat breakfast before arrival on Saturday morning and bring a packed trail lunch.  Scouts should bring some cash for lunch on the Sunday return.  Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast are planned and prepared by patrols.  Please don’t forget to bring a dry change of clothes for after the canoeing, water shoes, and rain gear. Also, sun protection and bug spray are essential.  Scouts should wear Class B uniform.

Total Cost per person if driving: $47  $57 after 9/21

Permission slip and payment must be received by Wednesday, Sept 21st.  There is a $10 late fee after this date.
