The Heart of Virginia Scout Reservation is located in Goochland County, Virginia.Camp T. Brady Saunders is the oldest camp on the Reservation and provides long-term summer camp for Scouts BSA, Sea Scouts and Venture Scouts. Camp T. Brady Saunders has 16 separate campsites, a large dining hall equipped with air-conditioning, a trading post, health lodge, aquatics program on Lake Dillon, C.O.P.E(Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) Course, remote controlled multi-station shotgun range, covered archery and rifle range, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) program, a 3D archery range, 10 miles of mountain bike and hiking trails, a compass and geocaching course, a sand pit volleyball court, a Gaga Pit, a traverse wall, a nine-hole disk golf course, a 28 foot tall Wet Willy waterslide, Canoes, Kayaks, Paddleboards, Paddleboats, Sailboats, an administration building and dining hall equipped with high speed wireless internet, Scoutmaster Lodge with Internet and a basketball court. You are encouraged to pay the summer camp fee by cash/check since PayPal charges 2.9% transaction fee to troop 55 for each transaction. If you prefer to pay by PayPal, please find the PayPal link in the upper right corner of this web page.
- Withdraw before May 15 –> $50 non-refundable deposit
- May 15 and beyond –> No refund
HEALTH FORMS – Due June 1. All scouts and leaders must submit TWO copies of the Medical Form found on the bsa55.com website. The medical form must be signed by a doctor within 12 months of the last day of camp.
Blank BSA Health form – print, complete carefully, make copies and bring to a Wednesday meeting. Remember to make copies of both sides of your insurance card.

Swimming test – Troop will conduct troop-wide swimming test in early May. Please check troop weekly email for date announcement.

Scouts should use this to identify which merit badges they would like to work on at camp, paying particular attention to the prerequisite information and the map for planning your day. First year new scouts will participate Camp T. Brady Saunders’ new scouts “Trail Blazers” program and do not need to choose merit badge schedule.
