At this year’s camporee local Scouts will compete in Powhatan’s version of an Escape Room! The itinerary for the weekend features escape room challenge stations, Merit Badges, and of course, winning the coveted Powhatan Cup!

There will be other activities too including hiking around the lake, merit badge opportunities (Astronomy, First Aid, Citizenship in the World, Fishing, etc.) , and Saturday night campfire. Get your skits ready!

Note:  Scouts should eat dinner before arriving at St, Francis on Friday.

We will bring our trailer with all troop and patrol equipment, and as always, meals are planned and prepared by patrols. Patrols are responsible for Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner. Scouts should remember to protect themselves from mosquitos and other bugs by bringing appropriate spray, as well as extra pairs of dry clothes. Rain gear is always a good idea — even if it doesn’t rain, it is great wind protection. Please bring masks for in-door activity and meetings for COVID-19 safety.

Your troop/crew is invited to help investigate the MYSTOREE at the 2021 Powhatan District Mystoree.   Can your Troop/Crew win the Powhatan Cup for 2021?  Competitions will have you looking for elusive Sasquatch invaders, competitions in scouts skills, cooking in the Mystoree ingredient cook-off, demonstrating talent in the Mystoree campfire program and much, much more.

Registered participants can sign-up for one of our Mystoree Merit Badge Classes that will be held for the month after the camporee.  List forthcoming.  But to make sure that you and your troop can kick back, relax enjoy the entire Mystoree, we are making these virtual Merit Badge Classes.

From 4-6 PM Troops will have an opportunity to recruit Webelos/AOL Scouts.  Please sign-up to host a Troop Webelos/AOL Table at the Webelos Mystoree Open Air Hall of Troops Event.  Consider bringing flyers, demos, and you imagination as Webelos/AOL who visit your table will evaluate your Troops program and award your unit points.  Plan a Mystery Challenge for them to try and earn points from you towards the Powhatan Pennant. Troops that participate will earn points towards the Powhatan Cup.
