March. 2021 Outing – Big Red Trail Day Hike

When: Sunday, March  21, 2021
Where: Big Red Trail located near Boonsboro, Maryland
Time: Leave Great Falls Library Parking at 7:00am in small group, and return to home ~2:30PM 

Big Red Trail is a 5.2 mile loop trail located near Boonsboro, Maryland that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Scouts must arrive at departure location at 7am after having breakfast or have brought breakfast with them. Please bring a day hike backpack (lunch, snacks and two water bottles). They must bring a personal trail lunch for the hike on Sunday. Scouts can bring money for a quick snack stop for the return trip on Sunday afternoon. Return is estimated by 2:30 p.m. Sunday.  Scouts will call their parents as they near the Great Falls.

 Due to COVID-19 safety consideration, we require all scouts and adults wearing masks during car ride,  do not share food and drink, and do their best for social distance.

There is a $20 fee for each scout and parent attending (which includes a $15 transportation fee). Transportation fee is $15 per person (fee is waived if parent is driving). The transportation fee of $15 is waived for both scout and parent if the parent is hiking and driving.
