Where: Horseshoe Scout Reservation, Peach Bottom, PA

Scouts will enjoy winter car camping at Horseshoe Scout Reservation, which is located along the Mason-Dixon line separating Pennsylvania and Maryland. The scouts will be camping in Adirondack sites, large three sided wooden shelters with wooden bunks.
Troop 55 will use this opportunity to learn gun safety and shooting skills, complete some of the Rifle Shooting Merit badge requirements, as well as scout skill development. We will bring our trailer with all troop and patrol equipment, and as always, meals are planned and prepared by patrols. Patrols are responsible for breakfast, lunch & dinner on Saturday, and Sunday breakfast. Scouts should eat dinner before departure on Friday, and bring money for lunch on the return trip on Sunday.
Scouts must be prepared for cold weather, and should remember the potential need for layered, synthetic clothing when they pack. Rain gear and a warm sleeping bag is a must, as well as a change into warm dry clothes (no cotton) for sleeping, extra layers (no cotton) to add on, and extra pairs of dry socks. It will be cold in the evening.
There is a $75 fee for each scout and parent attending (includes $25 transportation, meals & camping). THE TRANSPORTATION FEE IS WAIVED FOR BOTH SCOUT AND PARENT IF THE PARENT IS DRIVING.
Early payment price $65, if registration & payment are received by Wednesday, February 5th.
