Summer Camp at Beaumont Scout Reservation
June 16-22, 2019
Beaumont Scout Reservation is a full-service Scout Reservation with forests, fields, wetlands and lakes, sitting on 1,260 acres along the Grand River in Rock Creek, Ohio, (approximately 40 miles east from downtown Cleveland, Ohio). It began operating as a Scout Camp in 1946 and has grown into a year-round facility with camping for Cub Scouts, Scouts and families. It features five separate camps: McIntosh, Broadbent, McCahill, Gray, and Beaumont Village. Beaumont offers more than 100 merit badges, including Eagle required merit badges. Camp rates:
$450 – Early bird ( before Thursday, March 28, 2019)$465 – Standard rate (March 28 to May 15)$525 – Late Registration and Payment rate (May 16 to Jun 2)- $580 – Extra-late Registration and Payment rate (June 3 to June 15)
You are encouraged to pay the summer camp fee by cash/check since PayPal charges 2.9% transaction fee to troop 55 for each transaction. If you prefer to pay by PayPal, please find the PayPal link in the upper right corner of this web page.
- Withdraw before May 15 –> $50 non-refundable deposit
- May 15 and beyond –> No refund
HEALTH FORMS – Due June 1. All scouts and leaders must submit TWO copies of the Medical Form found on the bsa55.com website. The medical form must be signed by a doctor within 12 months of the last day of camp.
Blank BSA Health form – print, complete carefully, make copies and bring to a Wednesday meeting. Remember to make copies of both sides of your insurance card.

Forms can be deposited in the Summer Camp box at all scout meetings. See Summer camp chair Mrs. Burke or Summer Camp assistants Mrs. Chien/Mrs. Hu if you have questions about summer camp.
Swimming test – Troop will conduct troop-wide swimming test in early May. Please check troop weekly email for date announcement.
Check here for Beaumont Weekly Schedule , Camp Map (Troop 55 sites are near Tulip Grove), and Merit Badge Schedule! Scouts should use this to identify which merit badges they would like to work on at camp, paying particular attention to the prerequisite information and the map for planning your day. Fill in the “2019 Merit Badge Schedule” and for each time slot, indicate a 1st, 2nd and 3rd choice in case classes are already full. Bring the completed form to the table at any Wednesday meeting before May 22, 2019. First year new scouts will participate Beaumont camp’s new scouts “JumpStart” program and do not need to choose merit badge schedule.
