Scouts will enjoy skiing/snowboarding at Whitetail Mountain resort in Mercersburg, PA. on Saturday and tubing on Sunday. The troop will spend Friday and Saturday night at Joy El Camp and Retreats in group cabins – about 25 min from Whitetail Resort.
Because of the limit slots at Whitetail during holiday weekend for lift ticket and lesson package, please submit your registration as soon as possible. First come first serve.
The Troop 55 basic package: $155 ($170 after Jan 24th, 2024)
Adult attending the event but not ski: Just pay this $155
Includes Friday and Saturday night lodging, breakfast, bag lunch and dinner on Saturday, breakfast on Sunday, evening snacks. Scouts must select their ski/snowboard options from the choices below. Ski or snowboard equipment is available for rent, and rental rates include the price of the ski lift ticket. More information about what to bring will be explained at the Troop meeting.
Joy El lodging includes: basketball court & game room (foosball, table tennis, air hockey, fireplace)
If scouts plan on staying for night skiing Saturday evening, they should bring cash for dinner on Saturday. Scouts not interested in night skiing will be transported back to Joy El and dinner will be provided.
Ski/Snowboard Options (Scouts can ski/snowboard 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday):
1) All Mountain lift ticket only (have own equipment): $85 for age 5 to 12, $100 for age 13 and above
2) Ski or snowboard rental (including helmet) *: $65
3) Group lesson package (2 hour lesson, including lift ticket and equipment rental )*: $175 for age 5 to 12, $130 for age 13 and above
** Group Lesson Package – This package is designed for the skier or snowboarder who is comfortable on all terrain. Package includes a lift ticket that is valid on all open terrain, rental equipment (includes helmet), and a group lesson at your ability level.
Note: BSA regulations require a helmet. If you are not renting and plan on bringing your own equipment, but do not have a helmet, you must purchase a helmet rental. Helmets are now included in the group lesson and ski & snowboard rental package.
Whitetail Forms – All should print/complete Whitetail forms and bring them on the trip to simplify the process on-site:
