Shenandoah River Canoeing at Front Royal – Ravens Historian Report – Jul. 30-31, 2022

unnamed  By: Katheryn Ji (Ravens)

This past outing Troop 55G and 55B had visited Shenandoah National Park on a canoeing outing. It was truly a spectacular and exciting adventure. When we arrived, many new scouts experienced carrying heavy objects such as the chuckboxes and stoves out of the trailer – now they know the meaning of strength. After carrying all the troop equipment out of the trailer, the scouts started to make dinner and everything looked great.

After dinner, most scouts started advancements. Other scouts did their scoutmaster conferences like every other outing. After all the work everyone got lots of rest! Big day tomorrow, get ready to canoe! During our ride on the water we had experienced some rain, but it was a wonderful experience. The scouts had a hard time rowing the boats but after some practice they got the hang of it, the views are spectacular!
