Pohick Bay – Scorpion’s Historian Report – Mar. 23-24, 2019

Pohick Bay Outing March 2019By Ian L.

During the outing, Troop 55 went to Pohick Bay in Lorton, VA.

For lunch, the Scorpions had cold cuts with lettuce, provolone cheese, cheddar, ham, and turkey breast. After that, Troop 55 started sending out patrols to hike Pohick bay. The Scorpions and Bucks were sent last.

We went on Red Trail which is 4 miles long, not including the road there or back. At the start, there was a thick forest with some fallen logs After one mile of walking in thick forest, we arrived at Pohick Bay.

Similarly to the Potomac River, the bay was contaminated, but the scenery was nice. We walked beside Pohick Bay for a few miles. Sadly, we got lost.

Eventually, we arrived at Pohick Bay Drive. Ethan and Drew’s legs were already sore, but they had to overcome 2 miles of road in front of the burning sun. It took another hour to get back to Camp Wilson.
