Great Falls Freedom Memorial – May 29, 2017
by Cam Beem – Vikings Patrol
Some volunteering scouts from the troop went to the Memorial Day service on May 29, 2017. First, everybody helped set up the chairs for the guests. Once that was finished, we did some practice runs of what we were going to do during the service. After that, the service started. We listened to all of the inspiring speeches and songs, which made us proud to be Americans. The keynote speaker was Robert D. Vickers Jr. who spoke about his service in Vietnam.
When the service was done, we took a group picture.
Once that was over, we put away the chairs. We also got a picture with the Marines who were there. They did the color guard and played taps to honor those from Great Falls who have lost their lives in service.
