We will be supporting Wreaths Across America again in 2015. Wreaths Across America is a 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to honoring and remembering our veterans.
There are a number of ways to get involved. However, we have elected to support this effort through the purchase of wreaths that will be placed on tombstones at Arlington National Cemetery.
For the sponsorship of $15 each, donors will ensure a wreath will mark the grave of one of our many fallen heroes. Checks should be made payable to “Wreaths Across America”. In addition to honoring and remembering our veterans, for each wreath sponsored, $5 will go to the troop to defray the cost of outings as well as to support Eagle Project funds.
For on line participation in this worthy cause, go to http://give.wreathsacrossamerica.org/goto/VA0109P and click on the red button located on the right side of the screen and titled, “Donate to VA0109P – BSA of America Troop 55!”. You will be guided through instructions on how to donate. Please note that in order for individual scouts to receive credit for the donation, you must include the scout name in the “Personal Note” section of the donation form. Cutoff date is 28 November 2015.
If you canvas your neighborhood, please complete the linked sales tally sheet. Make checks payable to “Wreaths Across America”. A Script of what to say while you’re collecting and FAQ’s can be found HERE.
Turn in sales tally sheets to Mrs. Syring. The final submission is due NO LATER THAN 18 November.
