Adopt a Highway – March 21, 2015
By Jason J. (Bear Patrol Historian)
For Adopt a Highway on March 21, 2015, the Bears and the Bucks patrols picked up garbage along a segment of Walker Road. At 9:30 am, both patrols and some new scouts came and met behind the Great Falls Domino’s. While scouts were coming, they planned out who would pick up trash and where they would do it. They split up into three groups, and started collecting trash. The adults were holding signs that said “Cleanup Crew Working” and helping the traffic to prevent a jam. There were lots of different kinds of trash, from soda cans to beer bottles to plastic bags. They all finished around 11 o’clock am, and gathered to take some photos. When the scouts finished, they filled up more than ten garbage bags! At the end, there was a lot less trash on the road than before.
