For many years, a great group of Scouts and adults have gathered in Washington DC to salute our veterans. It is essential that all generations of fellow countrymen never forget those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. Please sign up a Cub Scout Pack, Boy Scout Troop, or even as a family to participate in placing of wreaths at memorials, remembering all veterans.
We will depart from the Boy Scout Memorial at the base of the Ellipse at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2014. Please have your group arrive by 12:30 pm. It is essential that as many Scouts and adult Scouters are in full uniform that day. Neckerchief, Shirt, Scout pants, etc. We will be representing the Boy Scouts of America to all visitors and veterans we contact.
We will be hiking from the BSA Memorial, to the World War II memorial, then the Vietnam War Memorial, then the Korean War Memorial, and ending at the World War 1 (District of Columbia War Memorial). Please bring water, wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared for the weather. Also be prepared to help carry a wreath or flowers for parts of the trip. Each of us will have a turn to participate in this important remembrance.
Parking is limited, so please plan to arrive via Metro at Federal Triangle and depart via Smithsonian.
Class A Scout Uniform is required for this honorable community service in the public.
If you like to participate, please contact Mr. Ye at yejeff [at] hotmail [dot] com
