September 2014 Outing – James River Canoeing

Twin River Camping and Canoe Trip Sept 20-21, 2014

 

When: Sept 20-21, 2014
Where:             Twin River Outfitters: Breeden Bottom Campground and James River Canoeing
Time:   Arrive at the St. Francis parking lot at 6:30 am on Saturday, Sept 20th and return to St. Francis mid-afternoon on     Sunday, Sept 21st

Whether this is your first canoe trip or you’re an experienced boater, this 10.5-mile 2-man canoe trip is ideal for a large group wanting to have fun.  It includes plenty of rapids; 5 which are rated class II, great mountain views, and a remote wilderness feel.  On Saturday you will check in with Twin River Outfitters, where you will receive your safety orientation, river maps, and life jacket. From there you’ll be shuttled to the staging area where you’ll begin your 2-day river trip. Sunday morning you will complete the rest of the 10.5 mile canoe trip after breakfast, clean up and head home.
