It was WONDERFUL to see so many new scouts at the instructor session this past Wednesday. We’ve had some queries about how to advance to Tenderfoot. As this rank advancement is a bit more complicated than the “Scout” rank, we wanted to provide the steps to get there. Please encourage your son to reach to the Troop Guides (Mitchell Pan and Tim Fahlgren) initially, then Patrol Advisors for any questions, but never hesitate to ask a question of anyone.
To reach Tenderfoot rank:
1. Regularly attend the Wednesday meetings following an outing (instructor session) in your Class A uniform and bring your book-the focus is on completing requirements below First Class.
2. Find Scouts who are First Class and above and have them sign off on completed requirements in your book.
3. Send an email to your Patrol Advisor (listed at the end of this email, and on the website) – that you would like a Pre-Scoutmaster’s Conference – they will work with you to move to Tenderfoot.
4. Print out this form and complete the section for Tenderfoot:

5. If you have all requirements signed off and your Pre-Scoutmaster conference worksheet with your Patrol Advisor completed, tell Mr. Pan or Mr. Reuss you are ready for a Scoutmaster conference. This will occur on an outing.
6. You’ll then contact the Troop Board of Review committee chair (Mr. Andersen) to schedule your board of review. Board of Reviews are completed once a month during the PLC/Instructor session on the Wednesday following an outing. troop55bor [at] gmail [dot] com
