Four Troop 55 Scouts – Andrew D., Paul Y., Daniel R. and Charles S. – presented the colors at the opening ceremonies of the July 4th Parade in Washington, DC on Constitution Avenue. The boys then marched in the parade carrying the Troop colors, waving to the crowd and spreading scout spirit.
Not only were these four scouts the sole representatives of Troop 55 but they were the only Boy Scouts in the parade.
During their walk from the cars to the parade-stand the scouts were stopped by a news crew from Wisconsin who did a brief story with the boys asking them, “What does Independence Day mean to you?”
Thanks to these boys for representing the Troop and to the adults (Mr. Pepper, Mr. Dudzik and Mr. Reuss) who drove them there and marched with them.
