Oct 22-23, 2011: Dolly Sods Backpacking:On our October outing in Dolly Sods the Dragons patrol had a phenomenal time. We parked at Bear Rocks and hit the trail around 12:30. On this rather blustery day we hiked to the top of the Red Creek trail where we camped. Our campsite was one of the best yet, the stone seats were a patrol favorite. We woke up early the next morning, which was a bit nippy. After a warm breakfast of oatmeal, we hiked out to the Blackbird Knob trailhead and shuttled the cars. I think that we’d all agree this was a great trip.
