Whether this is your first whitewater rafting trip or you’re an experienced rafter, the Lower Yough (pronounced “Yok”), in the heart of The Laurel Highlands, is a blast!! Troop 55 will camp at Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania for this two night camping trip. On Saturday, you will be checking in with the rafting outfitter where you will receive your life jacket & helmet and meet a couple of your River Guides. From there you’ll be transported to the staging area where you’ll begin your river trip. Dividing into groups of 4 – 6 people, you’ll climb into your rafts for a quick introduction to river running before hitting the water. River safety, paddle strokes, boat maneuvering and what to expect on the water will all be covered. From there you’ll head to the river and the fun begins!
